Terri Scalise

A Life of Purpose, Passion, and Storytelling

Terri Scalise is more than an author; she is a dedicated teacher, mother, and grandmother who has spent her life helping others see their potential. Her journey to writing was born from a deep well of compassion and life experience. Having taught high school students for 25 years, she’s touched countless lives, and it’s these very interactions that inspired her to pen No Wind at the Window.

Her devotion to education, her resilience in facing personal hardships, and her unwavering faith have all shaped the stories she tells.

Early Life & Education

Terri was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From an early age, she had a passion for learning and a heart for helping others. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Mathematics and another in Secondary Education. Later, she earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Services, a path that further deepened her understanding of human challenges and emotional resilience.

Career as an Educator

For over two decades, Terri taught in an alternative high school, where her students were often labeled “at risk.” Yet, instead of seeing labels, Terri saw potential. Her goal was simple but profound: to make each student feel valued and respected, no matter their circumstances. Her passion for teaching and her ability to connect with young people left an indelible mark on her.

Transition to Writing

After retiring from teaching, Terri turned to writing, seeking to share the stories that had long been brewing in her heart. No Wind at the Window is her first novel—a labor of love that reflects the same compassion, understanding, and faith that defined her teaching career.

Personal Life

Terri divides her time between Pittsburgh, PA, and St. Pete Beach, FL, where she enjoys the company of her beloved Yorkie, Bean Sprout, and the quiet moments that inspire her writing. She cherishes her role as a mother and grandmother, finding immense joy in her family.

Inspiration & Faith

At the core of Terri’s work is her belief in the power of love, acceptance, and faith. Her values of non-judgment, compassion, and forgiveness shine through not only in her writing but also in the way she has lived her life. She continues to draw inspiration from the world around her—whether from the beauty of nature, the complexity of human relationships, or the strength of her faith.
